About King Arthur Series
King Arthur single cask collection is the first independent bottler in Greater China, PICT, self-owned brand, Or Sileis, single cask selection. It’s finely selected by Julie Lee, the judge of London area of IWSC. There are 12 casks in total in the whole collection, and planned to complete the selection within 2 years. The volume of each cask is varied, and each of them is cherry on top.
Or Sileis art director, Paul Houlders, has worked for the biggest on line game company, Electronic Arts. One of his famous works is “Battlefield 1”. With his great creativity, the label artwork of King Arthur collection will have more whisky lovers collect each cask.
Label Story
In the story of the legendary King Arthur is that he is the love child and raised by Merlin. Later the nation is in chaos after the king died, Knights of the Round Table ask Merlin for advice. Merlin told them that there is a mysterious stone in London, and a magic sword is in the stone, if someone is able to pull the sword out of the stone, the person shall be the king of England. Arthur pulls the sword out of the stone effortlessly, and becomes the heir of the crown.
Arthur didn’t follow the rules of the knights, he broke the sword in a fight. Fortunately, Merlin saved him. The disappointed and worried king was wondering around the lake, suddenly, there is an arm with a sword appearing from the lake. It is the “Sword of the King” which Arthur received from the siren of the lake. It makes Arthur regain courage and wisdom to rule the Britain and conquer the Europe.
Distillery Introduction
Glentauchers distillery is located in an outskirt of a forest in Speyside Banffshire, which is close to Keith. The distillery is established in 1898. The previous owner Buchanan is adventurous, he started with zero whisky knowledge, but he managed to produce blended whisky and even create his own brand.
The distillery was rebuilt in 1920, and underwent a big reconstruction in 1965, increased the stills from two to six, and the annual volume reached to 3.4 million litres.
The only thing remains the same is that almost all the production goes to blended whisky. Therefore, it is rare to see Glentauchers single malt whisky in the market, whether it’s OB or IB bottles.
Now the distillery belongs to Pernod Richard. The taste of Glentauchers whisky has been intentionally controlled to be the base liquid of blended whisky. Maybe this is the reason why Glentauchers is able to survive until now.

【Tasting Note】
- Light and refreshing fruit candy aroma, and later it’s a stingy feeling like drinking soda, and the flavor of milk chocolate is underneath. The thick and smooth saltiness is all over the tongue after taking a sip, and transforms into a woody palate with a slight sweetness. The mid-long finish brings the light fragrance of white flowers which lingers in the mouth.
